There are two ways to get started.
The easier method is to record new supplies as you receive them. Whenever you open a new bottle or box, update the item in MedsManager or add a new item card. Enter the number of days supplied (Example: if your regimen for Medication A is to take one capsule daily, and you've received 30 capsules, you have 30 days' supply of Medication A.) and the date you started using it. Over time, your inventory will naturally become accurate.
The more precise method is to count everything you currently have on hand. Open all bottles and boxes and total your remaining supply — including anything already set aside in a pill stick. This gives you an exact inventory in days, so you immediately know the status of your supplies. After that, you can maintain accuracy simply by using the first method going forward.
Medications are usually prescribed by pill count which reflects the days of supply. (Example: If your regimen for Medication X is to take one capsule per day, you should receive 30 capsules for a 30-day supply.) Many pharmacy labels include this information.
To estimate the remaining supply in a medication you’re already using:
MedsManager works best for items you use regularly. If you only use something occasionally — like insulin that isn’t needed every night, or pain relievers taken as needed — your estimated supply may not be accurate because the app assumes daily use.
In cases like these, you may prefer not to track the item until doing so becomes useful to you. You can still periodically inventory the item and update your supply manually, but MedsManager will continue estimating usage as though it’s being taken daily.
MedsManager is currently published using a freemium model.
Users of the free app may create two lists. Subscribers are not limited to the number of lists they may create.
In the interest of keeping the app responsive and performant, lists are limited to 20 items, regardless of the version in use.
The chart feature will display the five most recent supply events for a given item.
Yes. An item's recent history will be available for charting once the app recognizes the upgrade.
Premium users may add up to three custom fields, like dosage or pharmacy information, to each list they create. Each list can have its own fields, and the fields will be available for each item in the list.
Yes! Custom fields you create, such as dosage or prescriber information, will be included when you export it. Perfect for instructions for caregivers and babysitters.
MedsManager is intended for personal organization and inventory tracking only. Always follow the instructions provided by your doctor, pharmacist, or medication packaging. Supply estimates are based on the information you enter and may not reflect actual usage or remaining quantities.
